Three things you need to now about log's

The three rules of log's if the base is the same

smooshing
log(2)+log(7)=log(2x7)
         ^---if negative then its log(2/7)
reverse

expanding
log(2x7)=log(2)+log(7)

third rule 
2xlog (5)=log(5)^2

    Gah! i forgot that when it's negative you treat the two numbers as a fraction. Darn, could have used that on the test.
